FAQ

 A: Select a plan that covers the hospital room rates and treatments you expect, while also taking into account your desired coverage limit. It's also important to consider potential future increases in hospital room costs.

 A: Premiums typically increase every 5 years at age milestones ending in 1 or 6 (e.g., 51, 56, 61, 66), reflecting the higher risk and illness rates associated with those age groups.

 A: Yes, the company requires a waiting period to confirm that there are no pre-existing conditions before applying for insurance. The waiting periods are as follows:

  • Life and accident coverage: Immediate, after approval.
  • General illnesses (e.g., diarrhea, dengue fever, flu): Coverage begins 30 days after approval.
  • Serious illnesses, surgeries (including hernias, pterygium, cataract, adenoid surgeries), and conditions like endometriosis: Coverage starts 60 days after approval.

 A: Insurance contracts are based on utmost good faith.  As long as you have fully disclosed your health history and provided all relevant information, the company will not cancel your health insurance policy, even if you make frequent claims.

 A:  Any medical condition that has occurred before you join one of our policies is considered a pre-existing condition. Typically, we do not provide cover for pre-existing conditions within the first two or three years of policy inception (depending on the plan). We may ask for supporting evidence from your medical provider for claims you make that may be related to a pre-existing condition. 

 A:  The declaration of your health conditions on our application form will be sufficient. 

 A: When you apply, let us know if you would like us to consider covering a pre-existing condition. Our underwriters will then make an assessment and provide an offer if they agree to cover this condition.  An additional premium will apply as stated in the offer. Alternatively, Allianz may accept the application with exclusions, or decline cover.  

 A: Yes.  However, if the policyholder has had the insurance for less than 2 years and is diagnosed with a severe illness, Allianz may review the medical history to verify any undisclosed pre-existing conditions. In these cases, the policyholder may need to pay upfront. If no pre-existing conditions are found, the company will reimburse the full amount.

  A: When selecting a health insurance plan, consider the following:

  1. Policy suitability: Choose a plan that meets your specific needs, including access to your preferred hospitals, particularly for emergencies.
  2. Premium affordability: Evaluate the premiums you'll need to pay over time and choose a plan that fits your long-term financial plans.
  3. Medical inflation: Take into account rising healthcare costs and how the policy will cover future inflation.
  4. Insurance provider: Select a reliable, financially stable insurer with a broad network of hospitals and experienced agents to guide you.

  A: First and foremost, choose a comprehensive health insurance plan that covers medical expenses, as Thailand is a Medical Hub with advanced healthcare facilities. However, high-quality care comes with substantial costs. Secondly, avoid focusing solely on the cheapest premium. The least expensive plan may not provide the coverage you need when you require treatment.

  A:  We may conduct a medical review for inpatient or outpatient treatment for any disease, condition or disorder which we suspect may be caused by a pre-existing condition.

We will only conduct a medical review if the member's policy is still within the first 2 years for Personal Care and Beyond Personal Care Plans or in the first 3 years of other individual Health and Accident Insurance plans and Group Health Insurance plans. 

A:  Non-O Visa, Student Visa, LTR Visa and Work-permit.
